Speaking
at a press conference held at the bank’s Headquarters to launch the
campaign, Ms. Ruth Makombe: Country Head of Retail & SME Banking
said the campaign will greatly benefit the bank’s current and potential
customers. It is meant to promote a savings culture. “The WekaWeka Upate
Campaign provides our customers with two product options to choose
from: A high interest yielding Fixed Deposit, and the Balance Build
savings. These two products are targeted at individual and SMEs.
The
Balance Build savings account is where one makes regular deposits of
any amount they can afford. They can do it daily, weekly, monthly, etc.
as long as they are saving towards achieving something they have always
dreamt of. Besides the high interest, the customer savings will continue
to grow since the bank has removed monthly fees on this product. The
depositor can also get a loan up to 80% of their savings.
The
Fixed Deposit is where one puts aside a lump sum of money for a fixed
period of their choice ie. 3 months, 6 months, 12 months etc. for an
agreed fixed interest rate. The client has the option to get the
interest on this investment either on a monthly, quarterly, half yearly,
annual basis or at the maturity of their investment, thereby improving
on their cash flow. The client also has an option to get a loan upto 80%
of their fixed deposit amount.
In
appreciation for these participating in this campaign BancABC will be
giving out prizes to the lucky winner and these prizes include a return
ticket to China, Dubai, Singapore or Turkey, a generator and a motorbike
and there will be draws every 2nd month until 31st may 2012.
