Uzinduzi huo umefanyika mchana, Makao Makuu ya NMB, ambako mwakilishi wa Kampuni ya KPMG, inayoratibu tuzo hizo, Ketan Shah, alisema pamoja na mambo mengine, Tuzo za Kampuni 100 Bora, zinalenga kutambua mafanikio na kuthamini mchango wa wafanyabiashara
nchini.

Shah amesema wanafurahi kuona Benki ya NMB ikikubali kudhamini tuzo hizo, ambazo hutumika kuwapa wafanyabiashara, wajasiriamali na makampuni, mbinu za mafanikio kutoka kwa waliofanikiwa zaidi, ikiwa ni pamoja na kuonyesha njia za kuongeza thamani ya bidhaa zao.

Amezitaja baadhi ya sifa kuu za kushiriki shindano hilo kuwa ni pamoja na Kampuni ama mfanyabiashara kuwa na pato linaloanzia Sh. Bilioni 1 hadi 20 kwa mwaka na kuwa na hati safi za ukaguzi wa mahesabu ya kampuni kwa miaka mitatu iliyopita.

Kwa upande wake, Mkuu wa Wateja Wadogo na wa Kati wa NMB, Abdulmajid Nsekela, amesema benki ya NMB ina furaha kuwa sehemu ya shindano hilo, linaloratibiwa na KPMG, aliowataja kama wabobezi katika masuala ya utaalamu na ushauri chanya wa kibiashara.

Ameongeza ya kwamba, kwa miaka nane, KPMG imekuwa ikiratibu kwa mafanikio tuzo hizo, ambako wamekuwa wakifanya uchunguzi wa huduma mbalimbali za kibiashara na kuchangia ustawi, maendeleo na mafanikio ya kampuni shiriki na taifa kwa ujumla.

“Leo hii NMB tunapiga hatua kubwa zaidi kwa kuingia ubia na KPMG, ambao wanatarajia kufanya utafiti yakinifu na wa kina, ili kuwapata wafanyabiashara 100 bora nchini. Tunaamini kupitia mchakato huu itatoa fursa kwa washiriki hao kunufaika na huduma zetu,” alisema.

Ukiondoa NMB, wadhamini wenza wa tuzo hizo, ambazo pia hufanyika katika nchi za Kenya na Rwanda kwa miaka 10 sasa, ni pamoja na Kampuni ya Azam Media Ltd, Mwananchi Communication Ltd, Soko la Hisa la Dar es Salaam (DSE) na Hyatty Regency.

LAGOS, NIGERIA, 4 July 2018 – French President Emmanuel Macron offered a bold and new vision of France’s relationship with Africa, speaking at an exclusive session hosted by the Tony Elumelu Foundation in Lagos today. He passionately advocated a new partnership, prioritizing the role of entrepreneurship in driving Africa’s renaissance, highlighting the importance of the private sector and most importantly saying Africa’s future was and should be in Africa’s hands.
Macron spoke at a vibrant, no-holds barred interactive session, in front of nearly 2,000 alumni of the Tony Elumelu Foundation, who sought advice from the youthful President on how to grow their businesses, reach European markets amidst rising nationalism and emerging trade wars and the secrets of his political success. Macron’s experience as an outsider, who transformed French politics and spoke directly to and not at the audience, electrified the room.
“To young African entrepreneurs: never listen to people who are telling you to wait,” Macron said. “If you believe in your projects: just do it. Our role is to help the new generation to seize opportunities and rise to the challenge. This is what underpins a new, balanced relationship.”

TEF Founder and Chairman of Heirs Holdings and United Bank for Africa (UBA), Tony O. Elumelu, CON moderated the event and opened by acknowledging the importance of the occasion for African entrepreneurship: "The French President recognises the critical importance of African entrepreneurs to sustainable economic development on the continent – he knows the African narrative is changing and will change. His voice is refreshing and welcome” he said. “We want France and the rest of the world to realise that Africa is a continent of opportunities.”

The two leaders stood side-by-side, surrounded by emerging and established business women and men from across Africa, during an exciting and at times charged session. Concluding the event, TEF signed an agreement with the Agence Française de Développement (AFD), the French development bank. Theagreement established a research partnership to examine the entrepreneurship ecosystem in West Africa, with a special focus on francophone countries, a risk-sharing guarantee framework and access to high-level mentors for TEF entrepreneurs.

Airtel Tanzania the smartphone network in partnership with SportPesa has today announced the first winners of The “AMSHA AMSHA NA AIRTEL MONEY USHINDE” promotion which was launched on 14th June this year. The winners have won their prizes as a result of betting through Airtel Money.

KAMATI ya Bunge ya Uwekezaji wa Mitaji ya Umma imeelezea kufurahishwa kwake na utendaji wa Benki ya NMB na kuahidi kufanya kazi pamoja na taasisi hiyo ya fedha ili kuendeleza uchumi wa nchi.

Akizungumza katika chumba cha mikutano kilichopo ndani ya Ukumbi wa Pius Msekwa, Bungeni muda mfupi baada ya kuhudhuria semina iliyoandaliwa na NMB, Mwenyekiti wa Kamati hiyo, Dk Raphael Chegeni alisema taarifa zinaonyesha benki hiyo imefanya vizuri katika nyanja zote.

“Kamati imefurahishwa na utendaji wa NMB na tumewataka waendelee kuwa wabunifu na kuboresha zaidi huduma kwa wananchi. Tumewataka waangalie zaidi sekta ya kilimo ambayo kwa mwaka jana ilipata asilimia tatu (3) tu ya mikopo yote iliyotolewa na benki za biashara kwa sekta mbali mbali za uzalishaji mali nchini,” alisema Dk Chegeni.

Taarifa iliyotolewa na uongozi wa NMB kwa Kamati hiyo ya Bunge inaonyesha kuwa idadi ya wateja wa benki iliongezeka kwa asilimia 24 kutoka milioni 2.179 kwa mwaka 2016 na kufika milioni 2.7 mwaka jana.

Idadi ya mashine za kutolea fedha (ATMs) ziliongezeka kutoka 670 mwaka 2016 na kufika 770 mwaka jana huku idadi ya matawi yakiongezeka kutoka 188 na kufika 212 mwaka jana kabla ya kufika 220 hivi sasa.

Benki ya NMB pia imefanikiwa kuongeza idadi ya mawakala wake (NMB Wakalas) kutoka 785 mwaka 2016 na kufika karibu 4000 mwaka jana kabla ya kuongeza zaidi kufika 6000 hivi sasa.

Thamani ya mali za benki iliongezeka kwa asilimia 11 kutoka Shilingi trililioni 4.95 mwaka 2016 na kufika Shilingi trilioni 5.5 mwaka jana huku amana za wateja zikipanda kwa asilimia 14.

Mwaka jana, NMB ilipata faida ya baada ya kodi ya Shilingi bilioni 93.5 ambayo ni sawa na theluthi moja ya faida ya benki zote za biashara nchini kwa pamoja (NMB ikiwemo) ambayo ilikuwa jumla ya Shilingi bilioni 286.

Kutokana na faida hiyo, NMB imetoa gawio la jumla ya Shilingi bilioni 32 kwa wanahisa ambapo serikali – ambayo inamiliki asilimia 31.8 ya hisa za NMB – imepata mgao wa Shilingi bilioni 10.17.

Akizungumza baada ya Dk Chegeni, Mkurugenzi Mtendaji wa NMB, Bi Ineke Bussemaker, alisema mazungumzo kati uongozi wa benki yake na Kamati ya Bunge yalikuwa mazuri na kuahidi kuyafanyia kazi mambo mengi yaliyopendekezwa na watunga sheria hao.

“Tumepokea ushauri mzuri sana kuhusu ni maeneo gani Wabunge wangetaka tupeleke nguvu zetu zaidi…Tukitilia mkazo katika kilimo tutaweza kuwafikia wakulima wengi zaidi nchini kote,” alisema Bi Bussemaker.

Mbali na wajumbe wa Kamati ya Bunge ya Uwekezaji wa Mitaji ya Umma, wengine waliohudhuria semina hiyo ni pamoja na Mwenyekiti wa Kamati ya Bunge ya Bajeti, Bi. Hawa Ghasia na makamu wake Bw. Jitu Soni.

Wengine ni: Mwenyekiti wa Kamati ya Hesabu za Serikali, Bi. Naghenjwa Kaboyoka, Mwenyekiti wa Kamati ya Sheria Ndogo, Bw. Andrew Chenge na Mwenyekiti wa Kamati ya Huduma na Maendeleo ya Jamii, Bw. Peter Serukamba.

NMB TAWI MLIMANI CITY WAKIZAWADIA KITUO CHA YATIMA

WAFANYAKAZI
 wa Benki ya NMB Tawi la Mlimani City jana walikitembelea kituo cha 
watoto yatima cha UMRA kilichopo Magomeni Mikumi na kuwazawadia watoto wa kituo hicho zawadi mbalimbali ikiwemo vyakula katika mfungo wa Ramadhani na vitakavyotumika katika Siku Kuu ya Idd mara baada ya mfungo mtukufu wa Ramadhani. Akizungumza wakati akikabidhi misaada hiyo, Meneja wa Benki ya NMB Tawi la Mlimani City, Seka Samuel Urio alisema msaada huo ni michango ya wafanyakazi wa benki hiyo katika tawi lake, ikiwa ni utaratibu wa kawaida kurejesha fadhila kwa wateja wao.

Alisema waliamua kukitembelea kituo hicho baada ya kuguswa na shughuli za kusaidia watoto wanaoishi katika mazingira magumu zinazofanywa na kituo hicho kilichopo Magomeni, Mikumi jijini Dar es Salaam.

Miongoni mwa vyakula vilivyotolewa na wafanyakazi hao ni pamoja na mchele kg 100, maharagwe kg 50, sukari kg 50, mafuta ya kula lita 20, mbuzi wawili, sabuni za kufuli na dawa za meno katoni moja moja.

"...Huu ni utaratibu wa kawaida kwetu kutembelea, kujumuika na kusaidia jamii hasa wenye uitaji, leo tumewazawadia watoto hawa wa kituo cha Umra vitu mbalimbali pamoja na vyakula vya mfungo wa ramadhani na vingine katika siku kuu ya Iddi inayokaribia mara baada ya kumalizika mfungo wa Ramadhani," alisema Urio.

Kwa upande wake Mratibu wa Kituo cha Watoto Yatima cha Umra, James Gabone aliishukuru Benki ya NMB kwa kutoa msaada huo ambao utasaidia watoto wao kupata chakula sasa na baadaye kwenye Siku Kuu ya Iddi, ambapo watoto huitaji faraja zaidi.

Aliziomba taasisi na watu wengine kukumbuka kuwasaidia watoto wanaoitaji msaada hasa waliopo katika mazingira hatarishi ili kujenga uhusiano mzuri na Mungu.

"...Unajua unapomsaidia muhitaji yeyote unajenga misingi ya upendo suala ambalo linasisitizwa sana na Mungu katika dini zote, tukipendana tutasaidiana na kuendeleza mahusiano mazuri na Muumba," alisema Gabone.
