Tanzania Marketing Manager Salome Mbarizi, cuts a cake to officially
launch Coca-Cola teen parties dubbed Waka Waka na Coca-Cola. On her
right is Bongo Flava artist Cpwaa. Waka Waka na Coca-Cola is aimed
bring together the youth aged 13-19 to share their experiences and
exchange ideas. The event was helt at Triple A Hotel in Arusha and
attended by hundreds of teenagers.
Bongo
Flava artist Cpwaa, takes to the stage to entertain a crowd during the
launch of teens party dubbed Waka Waka na Coca-Cola. The event was
held on Sunday, 19th February 2012 at Tripple A Hotel Arusha under the
sponsorship of Coca-Cola company. A similar ceremony will be held in
Dar es Salaam and Mwanza.
HUNDREDS
teenagers turned up for the inaugural event of Coca-Cola Waka Waka
parties that was held at Triple A Hotel in Arusha on Saturday. The aim
of Coca-Cola teen parties is to engage the youth in active interactive
games, funs and foster relationship among themselves as they enjoy the
world’s most preferred soft drink – Coca-Cola.
The
youngsters were accorded a VIP red carpet welcome coupled with an
exciting entertainment from Bongo Flava musician Cpwaa whose appealing
voice and non-stop dancing style kept the youth on their toes
throughout the show. Mechanic for entrance into the party was two
bottles of Coca-Cola which were readily available at the door.
“Coca-Cola
has decided to organize teen parties in Tanzania to further promote
active life style among the youth and enhance the long-term connection
between Coca-Cola brand and consumers”, said Salome Mabirizi, Coca-Cola
Brand Manager Tanzania.
The
teenagers were highly encouraged to emulate their favorite artists and
music hero in terms of dressing and dancing style.
The teen parties dubbed Waka Waka na Coca-Cola will
run in two phases throughout the year with the first phase involving
three big launch parties. The Arusha launch over the weekend is one of
the trio curtain-raiser events while the second launch bonanza will be
staged in Dar es Salaam on Saturday, February 25th before wrapping up with an equally exciting and show in Mwanza in the second week of March.
Longtime
outstanding Hip hop music star Jo Makini will be on stage at Mlimani
City to entertain music fans during the Dar es Salaam launch on
February 25th while Mwasiti Almasi whose song – Soldier is
now riding highly in the music circles in Tanzania, will be in command
of the Mwanza launch.
After
the completion of the trio Coca-Cola launch parties, the youth aged
between 13 and 19 years old will then have an opportunity to organize
and host their own parties some of which will be supported by
