United Bank for Africa Tanzania recognizes best employee of the second quarter.

7 August 2015 Dar es Salaam, Recognizing staff performance is very important, United Bank for Africa Tanzania is making sure that employees have a very conducive and motivated working environment.

Following the employee’s recognition scheme that aims at recognizing and rewarding examples of high achievement and desirable behavior, encourage excellence and commitment from employees and raises the high morale of employees by showing appreciation of their efforts, Mr. Nicholaus Shimba was announced on Friday as the employee of the second quarter for April to June 2015.
“We take great pleasure in recognizing Nicholaus Shimba as the United Bank for Africa Tanzania employee of the quarter for the period of April through June 2015.” The Chief Operating Officer Mr. Chris Byaruhanga said when handing over the award to the winner. He continued to say “the selection was based on Nicholaus’s demonstrated, sustained, superior performance in the execution of his duties.”

 “I am so overwhelmed; I thank you my fellow staff for this achievement, if it were not for the dedicated Wholesale Banking team that I work with, this wouldn’t have happened. He continued to commend the bank for recognizing his efforts “United Bank for Africa is a very good employer they motivate us to do better thus performing with great zeal. Let’s continue to support each other so that the time comes when we are all up to our game.” Advised the employee of the second quarter winner, Nicholaus Shimba, Relationship Manager Wholesale Banking…

This scheme is intended to create a positive working environment, show employees how much they are valued and appreciated, aid in retention and recruitment, and foster a spirit of healthy competition.

“Please join me in congratulating Mr. Nicholaus Shimba and be encouraged to be one of the employees of the next quarter, to get the sport award and be the team of the month in the coming awards. The rest of the staff were happy with the selection conveying that Nicholaus is a very hardworking and dedicated chap with a systematic way of handling his responsibilities, “you see him struggle with his team to retain our customers and making things happen in a timely manner. He really deserves the recognitions” they acknowledged.

The occasion ended with the motivated employees asking the winner to sign autographs in their notebooks as way of appreciating this achievement. Working hard comes with a reward and with United Bank for Africa it is an affirmative recognition.

About the UBA Employee recognition scheme
The purpose of the scheme is to recognize and drive employee engagement, reinforce employee lifetime values, motivate employee to achieve stretch goals, improve the bottom line performance, recognize and reward examples of high achievement and desirable behavior. Encourage excellence and commitment from employees; publicize the values that are held in high esteem by UBA Tanzania. Raise the high morale of employees by showing appreciation of efforts. The scheme has three awards namely; Spot Award, Employee of the quarter and Team of the month.
Spot Award is the award given to an employee who does something outstanding in a positive way, over and above the usual expectations and responsibilities of the role.  This may be a one-off project or incidence.

Employee of the quarter is the award given to an employee who has shown significant contribution to the business with at least 75% of the individual target. Has customer orientation, handling crisis situation, cost innovation, Brilliant idea contribution to business results.
Employees awarded on spot will be amongst the nominees of the employee of the quota award.

Team of the month is the award given to a team which has shown significant contribution to business i.e. at least 75% of the team target
Customer orientation, handling crisis situation and brilliant ideas for business results
