Our little boy with albinism Yohana Bahati was laid to rest on February 20, 2015 in Katoro Village alongside the graves of his elder sister with albinism Neema and elder brother with albinism Kamule. R.I.P!
His grave was built using mortar and bricks, iron rods and corrugated iron sheets to prevent grave robbery.
His live was short-lived. Within this short period of time in this world he brought joy to his mother, siblings and family who miss him dearly now.
His mother Ester Jonas tried very hard to protect Yohana single-handedly. She put her body over the child for a few seconds pleading with the assailants not to harm her baby. But three hefty men armed with machetes overpowered her.
She sustained seriously face and shoulder injuries. They snatched her baby boy Yohana from her February 15, 2015!
Ester’s condition is stable, but she is not out of danger yet. She is breathing using tubes for now.
Yohana’s mutilated body without limbs was found on February 17, 2015 in a shallow hole on a farm in neighbouring Mapinduzi sub-village, about eight kilometers from his parents’ homestead where he was abducted.
