UK Alumni Launch Leadership Series

Mihayo Wilmore, the CEO of UhuruOne with Steve Gannon, CEO of Serengeti Breweries Ltd, at the  launch of the UK Alumni in Tanzania Network's Leadership series at the British Council.

Around 40 British and Tanzanian alumni from UK universities met at the British Council in Dar-esSalaam on 30 April for the launch of a series of Leadership events. 

The presentations, being organised by the UK Alumni in Tanzania (UKAT) Network, aim to inspire and inform the members  about effective leadership. Steven Gannon, CEO of Serengeti Breweries, together with Mihayo  Wilmore, CEO of UhuruOne, shared their unique insights in response to the question ‘What is it  really like to be a CEO?’ 

The speakers provided fascinating responses which reflected on how their
family background, educational achievements and professional development had influenced their  leadership journeys. They also discussed how they mobilise and inspire others to achieve success in  their role as a CEO. 

The presentations were followed by a networking reception sponsored by
Serengeti Breweries where members had the chance to meet and mingle with the guest speakers.  Leeds University graduate Evarist Mganga, a UKAT management team member, commented, “These  CEOs are great role models to young professionals in our network who wish to assume leadership  roles in a wide variety of sectors.” 

 UKAT was founded in 2012 for UK alumni across Tanzania to foster support and mutual success  through a range of activities. The organisation promotes UKAT’s events on Twitter @UKATz and the tzukalmni.co.tz website. The network warmly welcomes new members to join and be involved in the
