Uranium mining company, Mantra Tanzania has pledged to continue supporting education sector in Tanzania by either sponsoring education initiatives or by directly sponsoring students who would work on mining sector.

The company which is still in the process of finding mining license for its Mkuju River Project in Namtumbo District in Ruvuma Region has shown much commitment in ensuring that many locals are prepared to work in the mine as soon as production commences.  Speaking during the Tanzania Schools Exhibition event held recently in Dar es Salaam, Mantra Tanzania Senior Environmental Officer, Rabson Mshana, said his company is committed to support education sector, with a focus to prepare many Tanzania youths to have the capacity to handle professional jobs within the mining sector.

Mr. Mshana said Mantra decided to sponsor the exhibition because of its uniqueness as it gives parents a chance to have a one stop shop for their children’s education needs in terms of getting a variety of schools and getting to know what a particular school offer in terms of education.

“Choosing the right school for your child can be a very difficult and complex decision to make, especially when there are a number of good schools and very limited time to visit them all. This schools exhibition gives a parent an opportunity to talk directly to representatives from a cross-section of the best schools in the country, in order to find the best all round education for your child, and get immediate answers regarding the schools on your shortlist. Because we value quality education, Mantra agreed to sponsor this event to give parents a chance to make the right choice,” said Mshana.
