New year, new governor. Well, not exactly new. Soon-to-be governor of California Jerry Brown, has of course already been governor between 1975 and 1983, as some may recall.
Brown's inauguration will mark a momentous occasion. According to the LA Times, the 72-year-old will be only the second person to serve three terms as California governor when he takes over from Arnold Schwarzenegger and becomes the 39th governor.
California has a $28 billion budget deficit and multibillion-dollar shortfalls are predicted for the near future. So, 'the gov' has his work cut out for him cleaning up a mess that was not even close to terminated as promised by his predecessor.
Brown will be sworn in this morning at 11 a.m. at Sacramento's Memorial Auditorium.
