Congratulating the
entrepreneurs during a welcome back meet and greet on Tuesday morning at the
United Bank for Africa Head office in Pugu road, Mr. Ogunfeyimi, the Managing
Director, expressed his delight to the entrepreneurs “I am glad that you are back and
in high spirit. I congratulate you for the journey you have gone through and
the training you had in Ota, Nigeria. I hope you have learnt a lot from this
boot camp hoping you will be able to mentor a number of other emerging
entrepreneurs.”
He continued to
mention a few of the services and products United Bank for Africa provides
amongst which is the Visa Prepaid (VPP) card, which he encouraged the
entrepreneurs to use as the card can be used anywhere in the world and you
don’t have to have an account with UBA, “although we want all of you to be
customers of our bank”. With the UBA visa prepaid card, you load cash, Tanzania
Shillings, and withdraw from any Visa or MasterCard ATM anywhere in the world. It
can also be used to shop online, supermarkets at all point of sale machines and
on the move. Gone were the days of the travelers’ cheques; all thanks to UBA
VPP.
One of the excited entrepreneurs
from TEEP Reuben Mbwiga urged all
Tanzanians to grab this opportunity and get the chance to have their ideas come
to light. “We are many out there who have great ideas, but lack the capital and
knowledge of how to go about making our ideas become reality. Tony Elumelu
Entrepreneurship Program is here to help us realize that. Fellow Tanzanians,
please grab this opportunity next year from 1st Jan to 31st
March and represent us in 2016. Tony Elumelu believes that Africans can
transform the continent through entrepreneurship and urges other leaders to
share this vision with him”, concluded the entrepreneur.
In a bid to help
the entrepreneurs sustain their businesses, United Bank for Africa has promised
to continue supporting them in all their endeavors and the bank’s doors are
open to all individuals and entrepreneurs who wish to realize their dreams of
becoming great and successful entrepreneurs.
