Wanafunzi wa Shule ya Msingi ya Shekilango ya Dar es Salaam wakifanya mafunzo ya mpira wa Rugby kwenye viwanja vya Shule ya Kimataifa ya Tanganyika iliyoko Masaki jijini Dar es Salaa jana.
G4S Secure Solutions in partnership with Bhubesi pride have organized a rugby program involving primary schools in Tanzania with the aim of uniting children, empowering local teaching staff and inspiring young leadership.
This is through “Rugby in Africa” project that sees almost ten African countries, in which Tanzania became the 5th country to be visited primarily to support rugby and for community development.
The competition that was held during the weekend in Masaki, Dar es Salaam joined Mapambano primary school together with International school of Tanganyika (IST).
Speaking duing the competition, Lugembe Kahungwa, G4S secure solutions head of sales and marketing said that they have decided to be part of the project so as to raise talents among children in schools.

He said that they also intend to develop local communities in Africa using sports as an educational vehicle.
“We have decided to sponsor this project because we understand that sports are one among the things in the community that can easily unite children and further improve their lives if they seriously consider it as a career,” he said.
On her side, Asha Juma, one of the students from Mapambano primary school said that they have extremely enjoyed and are happy for that they have interacted with other students from IST.
She cited that the competition has gave them a wider opportunity to explore other sports such as rugby for which they had never played it before saying that football and netball were the frequent played sports at their school.

The 10 countries involved in the project are Tanzania, Uganda, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Malawi, Zambia, Botswana, Namibia and South Africa.
The 2014 “Rugby in Africa” project kicked off in Kenya on 17th February and is expected to conclude in South Africa on 27th June.
