David Luiz: Chelsea defender will not be moving to Bayern Munich
Bayern Munich boss Pep Guardiola has rejected claims he was about to make a bid for Chelsea defender David Luiz. Speculation
was rife after Bayern's 4-2 German Super Cup final defeat by Borussia
Dortmund that Guardiola was in the market for another centre-back, with
Luiz's name top of his list.
But Guardiola, speaking at a presentation before the Audi Cup in Munich, said he was happy with his defensive options. Bayern have the option of dropping holding midfielder Javi Martinez
back now that Thiago Alcantara has arrived to fill a similar role to the
one he had last season.
"He's not coming to Munich," he said. "We've got four or five central defenders.
