NATIONAL WORLD BLOOD DONORS DAY 2013, THEME: GIVE THE GIFT OF LIFE, DONATE BLOOD.

World Blood Donor Day, celebrated on 14 June every year, serves to raise awareness of the need for safe blood and blood products and to thank voluntary unpaid blood donors for their life-saving gifts of blood.

With the slogan "Give the gift of life: donate blood", this year’s campaign, the 10th anniversary of World Blood Donor Day, will focus on the value of donated blood to the patient, not only in saving life, but also in helping people live longer and more productive lives.

Rafiki wa Damu Salama is a new born

a blood donation platform initiated for young Tanzanian, aims to address and alleviate the blood issue in Tanzania by encouraging Individual Youth and Active Youth Organizations with the core element as Regular voluntary non-Remunerated blood donation (the youth platform of a safe and sustainable blood donation) and health promotions.

 

The Main Focuses of the Platform are:

• ELIMINATE wrong perceptions concerning Blood  Donation among Youth

• SUSTAIN Youth Blood Donors and Blood Ambassadors
