January Makama:"Yesterday I delivered a Keynote address at the
"Africa Futures Roundtable" in Lagos, Nigeria. The subject of my
address was "Designing Policies to drive Innovation". I stated my belief
that the future of innovation in Africa starts with appropriate
education that encourages critical thinking & boldness. We need to
foster divergent thinking - multiple possible answers to a question or
problem. Role learning, cramming for exams and regurgitation stifles
innovation. We need an educational revolution in the way we teach our
children."
